Within most large cities it's possible to use municipal bus service to get around, especially within New York City. For traveling by bus to or from New York City, the major bus terminal is at Port Authority, one block west of Times Square and directly accessible via the subway from city airports. Adirondack, Pine Hill, and New York Trailways has service from New York City to several communities in upstate New York and parts of Canada. Greyhound Lines has extensive national service. Hampton Jitney connects New York City and Boston to eastern Long Island. Peter Pan Trailways serves New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C. Shortline connects New York City to upstate New York and parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
